to remain implicated in what we critique
to understand that as we are critiquing ‘them’ we are ‘them’. and even though we are critiquing ‘them’. we remain ‘them’. ‘them’ is really ‘us’/'i’.
that is radical love. to stay inside one’s critique. to stay with the pain of the truth of the critique. because even though we are critiquing them. we are really critiquing ourselves. and by critiquing ourselves, we are not just critiquing the people that we used to be, or the people that we may someday be, but we are critiquing ourselves right now.
this is not about a psychological projection. but about realizing that we are part of the systems. and do not stand outside of them. that we uphold systems that we disagree with in order to survive.
