Santa Muerte

i pray to santa muerte constantly through my day.

now i lay me down to sleep

i pray to death my soul to keep

and if i die before i wake

i pray to death my soul to take

(it makes more sense this way.)

discovered her in pilsen chicago a few years ago.  grew closer to her in san cris, chiapas.

we all have to believe in something.  and believing in death.  in a beautiful joyful death makes alot more sense than alot of theologies.  perhaps it is the universalist in me that figures that death is what connects us sentient beings.  and it is that connection that i most want to celebrate.

aza is waking up and it is time to for to go to bed…
